2011
As 2011 comes to a close Day Dreams would like to say thank you to all our clients who made it a great year. It was so much fun creating candy displays for each and every one of your sweet occasions.I am still a firm believer that things happen for a reason and I viewed every job as a learning experience that helped pushed me to be better and better. I also want to thank everyone who has shown support. You may not think that liking a photo, making a comment on our fb page or recommending us to a friend is much but it does not go unnoticed. The support of family and friends means a great deal to me.With Christmas just around the corner I find myself looking forward to a new year filled with many new ideas. We have some wonderful opportunities coming at us and the creative juices are flowing. Check back with us in 2012... we have only just begun! Happy Holidays ~ Leighann @ DD

It's beginning to look a lot like Kiss-mass
Day Dreams has been working on new products available for the holidays. We took some time to think of a few candy treats that would be great gifts for those "I have no clue what to get" people on your list. Every year I find myself running out last minute to grab a so-so last minute gift for the teachers, neighbors, hostess.... This year we came up with some very cute and affordable gifts that would fit for just about anyone you might find on your last minute list. A candy display that is both decorative & edible sure beats that same old, same old candle or cookie tray that costs double the price. Check out pictures on our facebook page and then contact us to order one of our Merry Moose & Pals custom candy gifts for just $15.95. Stock is limited so order fast.

Top 10 Favorite Halloween Candy
I am very happy to say that Halloween is quickly approaching. I am a true summer girl but there is something about the crisp fall air, the comfy warm clothes and smell of apple pie.It makes me feel alive. As a child I always enjoyed Halloween and as an adult things haven't changed much. I always look forward to coming up with a new costume idea and feeling like a kid again with all my friends. Okay I admit I also always look forward to the left over candy bowl from all the adorable trick or treaters. Everyone remembers that house that would hand out the king size candy bars, right ? How could you forget ! Here is a list of my top ten favorite treats to get on Halloween. Hope everyone has a happy & safe October 31st ~ Leighann @ Day Dreams

Birthday Time!
Summer is a big birthday time for Day Dreams! Both LeighAnn and I celebrate in the summer months. As my birthday approaches, I am filled with visions of my favorite birthday treats: Carvel Ice Cream Cakes (a childhood favorite), Pull and Peel Twizzlers, and Sweedish Fish all come sweetly to my mind. I am also reminded of a birthday party that I attended at a very young age. It was for a friend who lived up the street. I always got super excited and somewhat nervous for birthday parties. I loved all the silly games-the dance parties, and of course watching my friends open their presents. This party was extra special. We played a guessing game that I will never forget. We had to guess the number of jelly beans in a large canister. The winner got to keep the entire canister of jelly beans! I was only 3 numbers off! I guess I had a knack for this candy thing even way back then! You can imagine my delight as I brought this giant canister of jelly beans home to my many candy loving siblings! What a birthday! I will never forget it. Happy Birthday month to my favorite partner! Here's to the SWEETEST year yet.

Summer Check In
Summer is flying by and here at Day Dreams we are doing well. We have had the chance to do some fun custom themed buffets over the past couple of months. From tropical to black and white they all came out great. My personal favorite was a rock and roll princess themed table set up for a little girl birthday. It was so much fun to imagine everything I would have wanted as a child and bring it to life. Pink feathered custom made cups filled with cotton candy,a colorful unicorn pop center piece complete with a wand and of course candy lipstick. It has been so much fun creating memories for clients by reliving my own. Every color scheme we work with seems to be even more cute than the next.It has been great experience and I am very thankful to all those who have trusted us to make their important events extra sweet. Although I don't want summer to end just yet I am looking forward to some upcoming late summer/fall events including my very own wedding. A candy queens wedding candy buffet will have to be spectacular! So enjoy the rest of summer and please check back this fall for a glance at my special day.

New Designs
Day Dreams is coming up with new ways to bring candy & happiness to your events everyday. We recently began designing custom made center pieces and custom made candy cakes. The candy cake was a big hit at a recent event which was a 5th grade graduation/birthday combo party. The cake is not edible but everything else is! We had a fun time designing and the children had a great time pulling off all their favorite treats. We will now custom make candy cakes for your next event. The fun part is your child can pick the candy treats we incorporate into it. Email us to discuss theme and design and we will give you a quote. ~Have a sweet day ~

Summer memories and candy
With summer approaching I have been thinking a lot about what summer really means. As a child summer was so much more than just warm weather. Summer was magical! When that final school bell would ring on the last day of school the feeling was unbelievable. To me summer meant vacation & with vacation came all my favorite candy and treats. I am talking about freeze pops, rock candy, Lolly pops shaped like lobsters & fishes, candy necklace's and of course ice cream. My personal childhood favorite was bubble gum.
My family spent two weeks of the summer in Cape Cod, New Seabury to be exact.By day it would be the beach and by night my siblings & I would wonder the market place which was home to a fabulous candy store. Not just any old candy store but one of those good old fashion candy stores. The kind with penny candy, gigantic whirley pop displays and the smells of pure chocolate. I can still hear the screen door of the candy shop slamming as we would rush in to grab our buckets to be filled with whatever we desired.
It's so funny what memories can do. I can close my eyes and remember it just like it was yesterday. It is one of my favorite memories of childhood, family, fun and sweet treats. So I realize when I think about what summer means to me I think of being a kid in a candy store... literally and figuratively. It makes me look forward to summer events such as graduations, BBQ's and weddings.... I hope to bring that feeling to our clients. That is what a custom made candy buffet is all about: being a kid for a day, going back to those memories and most importantly keeping them alive.

Feeling like kids in a candy store
Welcome to Day Dreams Custom Candy Buffets blog. We are so happy to enter the wonderful world of blogging. For two sisters who grew up in a candy store the fact that we have entered into the candy business is no surprise. The suit and tie 9-5 life seemed the natural way to go out of college but with all this bottled up creativity we were starting to go crazy. We feel so blessed to now have an outlet for all of our ideas and we hope that we can bring sweet treats to all of you. We have found our passion and there is no stopping us. You name your event and we will create a custom themed one of a kind candy buffet for it. We do it all from elegant weddings, over the top corporate events, whimsical baby showers, nostalgic birthdays to wild and crazy bachelorette's. You day dream it and we will bring it to life at your next big event.
It's funny some people say everything happens for a reason. We tend to agree and would like to say thank you to our hard working super woman of a mother. She taught us to be strong woman and follow our dreams. We would not know so much about candy and business if not for our childhood spent with her watching & learning as she ran a successful cake and candy store all while raising 8 children. So today is a special day for us, perhaps we celebrate with a few of our favorite candy treats. Thank you for reading and please come back again. ~Have a sweet day dream ~
